Biopharma on a Tear After Certificate of Grant from Japanese Patent Office

This biopharma is developing novel cancer treatments for patients suffering from recurring and metastatic cancer. Shares were trading up after the firm  announced that a Certificate of Grant for the Company’s “proenzymes composition” patent was received from the Japanese Patent Office.

Propanc Biopharma, Inc. (OTC Pink: PPCB) announced the patent news in a press release today. The patent covers dosing regimen claims for the company’s lead asset, PRP, which is advancing to clinical development. This is the fourth Japanese patent either allowed or granted in this important jurisdiction. Propanc also announced that a Certificate of Grant was also received from the Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia for a “cancer treatment” using therapeutically effective amounts of two proenzymes, trypsinogen and chymotrypsinogen. 

Propanc's patent on their proenzyme composition is a key intellectual property element. This patent covers the potential dosage ranges for their lead drug (PRP) as they move into early clinical trials. Japan, a massive pharmaceutical market valued at an estimated $46.36 billion in 2024, is a strategic target for Propanc. Within this market, oncology drugs lead, with a projected size of $8.95 billion in 2024. This sector is booming due to a growing elderly population and rising rates of chronic diseases, creating a strong demand for innovative cancer treatments like PRP.
