Lithium battery fires are a serious—and far too common occurance. Given their usage in everything from toys to electric vehicles, these fires can be a common daily occurrence that can lead to devastation of property. And this company just signed an LOI to acquire a firm that provides technology for preemptive detection and suppression system that prevents fires caused by thermal runaway events in lithium batteries.

Braille Energy Systems Inc. (TSX-V:BES) signed a Letter of Intent dated December 7, 2022, with GH Innovation Ltd., a private corporation incorporated under the laws of the UK, per its press release. The general terms and conditions of the proposed purchase grant exclusive rights for Braille to acquire the intellectual property related to 3iFirebulb.

Specifically designed for use on lithium battery thermal runaway 3iFireBulb technology offers rapid and unique fire safety functionality to deal with thermal runaway fire risks.

Shares of Braille closed Friday at $0.08.
