Giyani Metals Corp. (TSXV:EMM), the developer of the K.Hill battery-grade manganese project in Botswana, announced in a press release that it has secured a 50-year Special Economic Zone (SEZ) Investor License for its commercial high-purity manganese sulfate monohydrate (HPMSM) plant in Botswana. This significant milestone highlights Giyani's commitment to sustainable economic growth in Botswana and strengthens its position in the global supply chain for critical battery materials.

The SEZ License, awarded to Giyani's wholly-owned Botswanan subsidiary, Thabatala Technology Company Proprietary Limited, follows a rigorous government-led process that evaluated its environmental, economic, and social credentials. The plant, designated as a Single Factory Special Economic Zone, will be located adjacent to the K.Hill manganese mine site near Kanye, Botswana. As a holder of the SEZ License, Giyani will benefit from numerous fiscal and non-fiscal incentives, including reduced tax rates, zero-rated VAT on raw materials for export, and operational support from the Botswana government.
