Gold exploration activity continues to draw investor attention as companies advance projects in proven mining jurisdictions. With gold prices holding historically strong and capital flowing toward resource development, the milestones that move a project closer to discovery often become the catalysts that reprice junior miners. Few addresses carry more weight in that hunt than Nevada, home to the Carlin-type systems that rank among the most significant gold producers in the U.S.

Shares of Iconic Minerals Ltd. (TSX-V: ICM) (OTCQB: ICMFF) move higher Friday after the company submits its first core samples for analysis from the ongoing 2026 drill program at its New Pass Gold Property in Nevada. The submission clears a step investors have watched for, putting the first assay results of the season within reach.

Iconic is a Nevada-focused gold explorer advancing New Pass, a 2,140-hectare project along a prospective Carlin-type trend roughly 150 miles east of Reno. The company has completed more than 1,900 feet of HQ core drilling across nine drill sites during the current program. All nine holes intersect the limestone unit that hosts the Carlin-type mineralization the campaign targets.

Samples from the first six holes go to ALS Laboratories in Reno for gold and silver analysis. Selected holes also undergo multi-element testing to deliver further geochemical insight into the broader mineralization system.

"The drill program at New Pass continues to advance as planned," says Richard Kern, President and CEO of Iconic Minerals. "Our team has streamlined core processing and sampling to move material to the laboratory efficiently while maintaining rigorous quality standards."

Drilling is complete at nine locations, with pads already built for 11 more planned holes. The current campaign tests a southwest-dipping mineralized zone that reaches up to 250 feet thick. Gold and silver concentrate primarily along the contact between rhyolite tuff and limestone, then extend into the underlying limestone host rock. Intense silicification and jasperoid alteration mark the contact, classic signatures of a productive Carlin system.

New Pass already hosts a historical inferred resource of approximately 341,750 gold-equivalent ounces, with mineralization remaining open along strike and at depth. The combination of a defined resource and multiple untested targets gives the property meaningful room for expansion as results roll in.

In Friday trading, shares of ICM are up 9.1% to C$0.06. Shares of ICMFF aren't trading due to the Juneteenth holiday in the U.S.
