International tourism is rebounding across Asia as governments ease travel restrictions, expand visa programs, and invest in cross-border connectivity. At the same time, artificial intelligence is beginning to reshape how travelers research destinations, build itineraries, navigate foreign countries, and access personalized services, creating an opening for technology-focused travel companies to differentiate themselves from traditional operators.
Shares of Webuy Global Ltd. (Nasdaq: WBUY ) are surging Thursday after the company announced new strategic initiatives aimed at strengthening its position in China's expanding inbound tourism market. Webuy has joined the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) and will participate in the China Inbound Tourism Alliance Conference as part of a broader push to build an AI-assisted international tourism ecosystem.
Webuy provides technology-driven travel solutions and social commerce services across Southeast Asia, offering curated leisure travel experiences, cross-border tours, customized travel packages, and premium travel services for customers in Indonesia, Singapore, and international markets. The company is focused on combining artificial intelligence with localized travel resources to create a smoother experience for international visitors.
Management believes China's inbound tourism market is entering a new growth cycle, supported by expanded visa facilitation policies, improving international connectivity, and rising global interest in visiting the country. To capitalize on that, Webuy is investing in technology and partnerships it believes will set its platform apart from conventional travel operators.
A central piece of that strategy is the company's AI Smart Travel Card, designed to assist travelers across the full journey. It supports pre-departure planning, multilingual travel assistance, real-time itinerary management, location-based attraction content, and on-the-ground support, which the company describes as a more connected and personalized travel experience.
PATA membership expands Webuy's ability to collaborate with tourism boards, airlines, hospitality providers, destination organizations, and other industry participants across the Asia-Pacific region. Participation in the China Inbound Tourism Alliance Conference is expected to deepen relationships with government agencies, destination operators, and tourism organizations. The conference is organized by the Tongxiang Municipal People's Government and aligns with China's broader effort to promote high-quality inbound tourism and cultural-tourism integration.
Chief Executive Officer Vincent Xue Bin said the company believes China's inbound tourism market represents one of the most compelling long-term growth opportunities in global travel, and that AI, trusted partnerships, and seamless connectivity will shape the next generation of travel experiences.
Looking ahead, Webuy plans to keep expanding its global tourism partnership network while enhancing its AI-assisted travel platform through collaborations with tourism authorities, destination management organizations, local governments, and hospitality providers.
Shares of WBUY are up 46.6% to $1.0887 in late Thursday trading.
